Buhari, Other APC Figures To Flag Off Party’s Governorship Campaign In Ondo State

“The All Progressives Congress in Ondo State welcomes the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR), to the Sunshine State, for the flag-off campaign of Akeredolu/Ajayi, on Thursday November 10th, 2016.”
President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to visit Akure, capital of Ondo State, on Thursday to flag off the governorship campaign of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the November 26, 2016 vote.

Omo'ba Abayomi Adesanya, the Ondo State publicity secretary of the APC, disclosed the president’s appearance in a statement released to journalists today in Akure. He said Vice President Yemi Osibanjo and other national leaders of the party would join President Buhari to officially launch the governorship campaign of the party's candidate, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, and his running mate, Agboola Ajayi.
“The All Progressives Congress in Ondo State welcomes the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR), to the Sunshine State, for the flag-off campaign of Akeredolu/Ajayi, on Thursday November 10th, 2016.” He added, “The President's visit is not only to campaign for the victory of his party's candidate, Akeredolu/Ajayi, but also for his love for the people of Ondo State."
Mr. Adesanya described Ondo as a “state that is strategically positioned and endowed with great potential of both human and natural resources for economic diversification.” The APC spokesman also revealed Governor Solomon Lalong of Plateau State, who is the chairman of the party’s national campaign committee, and Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State are among prominent party leaders expected to arrive in Ondo State for the governorship campaign.
Mr. Adesanya also stated that party chairman, John Oyegun, the APC’s national leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Bukola Saraki, and Speaker Yakubu Dogara of the House of Representatives are also expected to be present at the flag-off campaign.
