Pro-Biafra Protests: Police Vow To Deal With MASSOB, IPOB, Others
The Nigeria Police Force has warned the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Biafra Independent Movement (BIM) against any act capable of breaching public peace during the protests rallies planned by the groups for 30 May. The Police also declared, as illegal, orders market closure and vehicular movement restriction issued by the IPOB to traders and motorists across states of the South-East on the day of the protests.

UK Court Mocks Ibori, Awards Him £1 Damages For Unlawful Detention
Former Delta State governor, Mr. James Ibori, on Monday, won a United Kingdom High Court declaration that he was unlawfully detained, with the court awarding a derisory £1 in damages. Mr. Ibori, who left the United Kingdom on 3 February after completing his prison for sentence for corruption-related crimes. On departure, he launched his claim for damages for false imprisonment and breach of his rights under the 1998 Human Rights. The ex-convict demanded £4,000 in damages for being detained by United Kingdom Home Secretary, Amber Rudd.
Forfeiture of $58.8m: Appeal Court Filing Stalls Ex-First Lady Jonathan’s Final Federal Court Hearing
Hearing on the final forfeiture of the $5.8million belonging to a former first lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, has been temporarily suspended after her counsel, Mike Ozekhome, informed the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos on Monday that the appeal on the interim order has been fixed before a Court of Appeal. Mr. Ozkehome told the presiding judge, Justice Mojisola Olatoregun, that the appeal for “stay of proceeding” had been entered with a hearing at the Court of Appeal fixed for July 5.
